How to Lose Stubborn Middle-Aged Weight, Bounce Back, and Have Abs Again
Learn How Business Owner Michele M. Gained a New Mind Set, New Body, and Surpassed Her Goals With TKN.
What Is Your Name?
What is your occupation?
I am a 25-year fitness professional and own and run a personal training studio.
How was your body before Trevor Kashey Nutrition?
Before TKN, I was “fluffy.” I had gained middle-aged weight slowly over the course of five or six years. I could still do all of the things I used to do, but not as well or with as much energy.
How did that (state of being) make you feel?
At 52, that state of being made me feel pretty crappy about myself. I had allowed myself to let go of my appearance. I told myself it was ok. I was over 50, and this is what I should expect. The last time I was unpleased with my appearance was right after having my second and third children. I had my firstborn at 29, my second and third at 31 and 32. I never really bounced back from my second pregnancy before I had my 3rd. Before having my second child, I was always able to get the weight off through exercise but after my third, I also began eating mostly whole foods.
It became evident that exercise wasn’t going to be my answer in menopause. I had to get real with myself!
What were you unable to do that you wished you could do?
Workouts became more challenging in my late 40’s. I began in the industry as a group exercise instructor. When I opened my business, I had to quit teaching because I was too busy building a training business. I had to find time to work out like everyone else. My body couldn’t take all of the cardio workouts anyway. I was in a rut mentally and found it difficult to muster up the energy to make myself a priority when it came to exercise and my health. And I just couldn’t bring myself to cook, as I was newly separated and all my kiddos were at school and my daughter had moved to the West Coast. I was unable to motivate myself anymore, which had never before been an issue. I didn’t know how to proceed.
During that time, how did your current state of being affect those around you?
Over the past four years or so, I am sure I was not my happiest self. When a mother isn’t happy, it affects the whole family. I am sure my clients felt it too. So much stress, and not taking care of the one who takes care of everyone! I could not have been the best version of myself.
How did you hear about Trevor Kashey Nutrition?
I heard about TKN, through a colleague of mine after running into him on the street right after having breakfast at a diner. I noticed right away that he looked so much different. I asked him what the heck he was doing? Then I noticed a couple of other gym owners in our circle started posting transformation pictures of themselves. So I started asking questions!
What were your doubts and fears before starting the program?
Before starting the program, I didn’t have any doubts or fears, although I didn’t know much about the program. I just knew if my colleagues approved and saw success, that was all I needed. I didn’t need any more convincing.
What made you say YES anyways?
I was ready for change. I knew my body and more importantly, my head needed a change. I wasn’t the person I wanted to be or ever was. I had been through a hellish 5 years personally all whilst starting a brick and mortar gym. Something needed to change and I knew I couldn’t do it alone with everything else I had going on. I needed support from someone other than family and friends. I am so so glad I said yes. Hands down, one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Where is your body/mind now?
Pleasantly, I have surpassed my original year-long goal of 140-145 and have gotten as low as 130. I have abs again:) YAY!!! I am smaller than I was on my wedding day 28 years ago. My mindset is completely different and all of this amidst the pandemic of 2020. I am happier, more confident, and feel like the world is once again my oyster, full of possibilities.

How does that make you feel?
This makes me feel like anything is possible. IMpossible!!!! My energy is through the roof. My outlook is super positive!
What are you able to do now that you were not able to do before?
As a result of this program, my workouts have gotten easier, I am experimenting more in the kitchen and my relationship with food has changed. I am also drinking a lot less alcohol. My sleep has also improved. I wake up alert, often without an alarm, and am a little less foggy!
What positive impact did that have on others around you that you might not have expected?
I believe I have impacted those around me, inspiring other women my age as well as my best friend who has also been able to lose weight. I have had quite a few people reach out to me saying they can’t believe the positive changes in me. I am back to my old self and it feels amazing!
What would you tell someone who is reading this right now and is unsure about taking the next step?
Hands down partnering with TKN has been the best decision for me, given the state of mind and body I had been in before saying yes. Don’t waiver, trust the process and commit. It didn’t take you 30days, 42 days, heck 3 months to get where you are, it’s going to take some time to get you where you need to go. How’s it working for you so far to do it alone? Yup, that’s what I thought. Just do it. There never is a perfect time. The time is when you are ready. There will be setbacks at times, but you will learn a process that will fit your lifestyle. It takes an army sometimes to get to you where you need to go! When it comes to your health, success requires a team to set you on your best course. Even coaches need coaches, so how is a non-health professional supposed to know how to navigate this? Don’t wait one more day. Just say yes to yourself!
How likely are you to recommend TKN to a friend?
Hands down, best process I’ve taken part in!
