Summer M.

What is your occupation?

I have been a personal trainer and nutritionist for over 20 years. I’m also a dog sitter for small fluffy dogs.

How was your body before Trevor Kashey Nutrition?

My body before TKN was ok. I was pretty healthy and my fitness was good, but I was still holding onto 10 extra pounds of fat despite very consistent exercise and eating very healthy foods. I was simply eating too many calories.

How did that (state of being) make you feel?

I felt like I should look a lot better considering how much I exercised and because I was eating such healthy foods. I felt like I should look better because I knew so much about nutrition and fitness. And I felt like I should look better because dammit I’m a trainer! I didn’t feel comfortable in my clothes or a bikini while playing beach volleyball and that made me feel self-conscious and less confident. (The dogs I watch don’t care how I look, as long as I give them belly rubs and treats) 🙂

What were you unable to do that you wished you could do?

I was unable to wear anything in my closet and feel confident. I wanted to wear crop tops and other trendy items. I wanted to wear a bikini and not feel self-conscious. I also wanted to jump higher for beach volleyball, and figured losing a few extra pounds of fat would lighten my load and help me jump higher and move quicker in the sand.

During that time, how did your current state of being affect those around you?

My current state of being affected those around me because I didn’t feel as confident, so I would sometimes turn down social invitations. I was a bit more withdrawn.

How did you hear about Trevor Kashey Nutrition?

I heard about TKN from Dr. Krista Scott Dixon. I am a certified Precision Nutrition Level 1 & Level 2 Coach, and I’ve also gone through Precision Nutrition as a client, and Dr. Krista was my coach. She recommended I work with Dr. Kashey.

What were your doubts and fears before starting the program?

Before starting the program, I had doubts that I would ever be able to lose weight. I feared it would be a waste of money.

What made you say YES anyways?

I said “Yes” anyway because I was hopeful that there was a possibility that I could change. I’m an optimistic person and I like learning and trying and working on self-improvement, so I was excited to become better.

Where is your body/mind now?

My body is feeling strong and looks lean. I didn’t think I could eat any healthier than I was eating before, but I’ve managed to improve my diet another notch as well. I am confident that I can maintain my new leaner body. My coach Ben has been very supportive.

How does that make you feel?

I feel good about continuing to improve my health and my body as I get older. I feel healthier now in my 40’s than I did in my 20’s and 30’s. And I feel like I still have room for improvement.

What are you able to do now that you were not able to do before?

I can wear a bikini and feel comfortable and confident. And I’m also able to wear anything in my closet.

What positive impact did that have on others around you that you might not have expected?

The positive impact that it has on others around me, that I didn’t expect, is that I am more present with my interactions with people, instead of being in my head worrying about how I look.

What would you tell someone who is reading this right now and is unsure about taking the next step?

You really can’t put a price on looking and feeling better. There’s nothing more important than your health. Invest in yourself and you will reap the benefits in many areas of your life. Improve your health, improve your relationship, improve your career, and improve your happiness. A year from now, you will look and feel much better. Or you will be worse off, kicking yourself, wishing you would have started a year ago.

How likely are you to recommend TKN to a friend?

I would recommend TKN! If you want to get better at any area in your life, hire a coach. If you want to succeed faster, higher a coach. Stop spinning your wheels and start moving consistently in the right direction. Even a coach needs a coach!
