What Is Your Name?
Brian B.
What is your occupation?
I am a chiropractor.
How was your body before Trevor Kashey Nutrition?
I was at least 40 lbs overweight when I started following what my wife was doing with TKN in October of 2019. I had lots of aches and pains and was not happy with my overall appearance.
How did that (state of being) make you feel?
I felt like a fraud. I was supposed to be a healthy individual, helping my patients become more mobile and more healthy overall. I also had a far more negative outlook on life in general.
What were you unable to do that you wished you could do?
I couldn’t wear form-fitting clothes without feeling extremely self-conscious. I did not feel like I was strong when I went to the gym.
During that time, how did your current state of being affect those around you?
I was more negative around my family, friends, and co-workers. I’m sure that affected their overall mental state and their opinion of me as well.
How did you hear about Trevor Kashey Nutrition?
Mike Musselman.
What were your doubts and fears before starting the program?
I was afraid I would be stuck with a “dad bod” for the rest of my life.
What made you say YES anyways?
After seeing Mike’s progress, and knowing my wife needed to lose a lot of weight I encouraged her to try it. Just talking to Desiree and Dr. Kashey told me this was different than everything she/we had tried before. Once I saw how well she was doing and how quickly she was making progress I could not wait to start with TKN. This challenge allowed me to get started and I’m so happy I did!
Where is your body/mind now?
I have lost 33 lbs since October 15th, which is the day Ashley first started with TKN. I lost roughly half of that the first 4 months just following what she was doing. Since starting this challenge I have lost another 16 lbs. I can wear a pair of 32″ waist jeans that were slightly tight on me when I first bought them 8 years ago. I can now see the start of my abs coming in and I feel stronger and healthier than I have my entire adult life. My mindset is much more positive and I don’t get hung up about fluctuations on the scale.
How does that make you feel?
I just feel more in control of my life and my emotions. I know “control” is a bit of a myth, but I focus on what I know I can control and work around the things I cannot.
What are you able to do now that you were not able to do before?
I deadlifted 185lbs. on Saturday for 6 reps, which is better than when I first started training last Spring. Even 135lbs felt too heavy for me then. I can also go for a walk in the evenings with my wife without feeling winded. We typically walk 1-2 miles in the evenings with the weather allows.
What positive impact did that have on others around you that you might not have expected?
I’ve been shocked at how many people tell me how good I look and how many ask me what I am doing/how I’m doing it.
What would you tell someone who is reading this right now and is unsure about taking the next step?
I have told numerous people that it’s completely different from anything that I’ve tried before. It addresses the psychology of eating, why we eat, what we eat, etc. I have added several friends and patients to the Best Nutrition Group Ever, I’ve told them to look around, and that when they are ready it costs nothing to have a 30-minute conversation with someone with TKN.
How likely are you to recommend TKN to a friend
I would recommend TKN 1000% to friends and family. The only reason I would hesitate to recommend TKN to every single person is if I honestly don’t think they are ready to commit to truly change their life or their body.
